Description
To develop specialised skills in maintaining high quality greenstock in
production houses and nursery field areas. To demonstrate procedures for
receiving and despatching stock and materials. To keep efficient records.

Range of Variables
Delivery will take place in a classroom/nursery area on the site, or on
excursions to suitable nursery/ies of commercial standard, providing
shadehouse, igloo, glasshouse and hardening-off areas plus a location for field
grown stock. There will need to be an adequate number and selection of plants
being grown in the nursery/ies for the learners to practice the skills. The
learners will need to be supplied with the tools and materials such as
fertilisers, containers, appropriate media, and cleaning materials to ensure
proper hygiene.
Learners will need to be supplied with examples of documents for record
keeping, quarantine and stock received and despatched.
Learners should have done or be doing 46218 Fieldwork - Nursery to have the
underpinning Level 1 knowledge and skills required.
It would also be an advantage for the learners to have completed or be doing:
- 46008 Pests and Diseases 1

- Practical demonstration of the skills required
- Activity book
- Examples of records, documents.
