Description
To provide training for marine engineering advanced diploma learners so that
they develop skills and acquire knowledge in applied theoretical mechanics
principles appropriate to operational applications.
The training will enable learners to calculate forces, pressures, stress and
strains in static structures and dynamic machines.

Range of Variables
This module is taught in a classroom and laboratory by the Integrated
Theory/Practical teaching method. Equipment in the mechanical, strength of
materials and fluid mechanics laboratories will be used in the practical work.
This module will be delivered entirely in an off-the-job environment using a
combination of theoretical and practical teaching methods strategies in class
and in the laboratories.
