While developing a range of generic skills, knowledge and understanding required to establish and run a small business, emphasis will be placed on embedding enterprise skills and attitudes and endorsing enterprising behaviour. Students will be provided with opportunities to understand the technology process through the completion of tasks which are largely individual and student generated in negotiation with the teacher.

Small Business Management and Enterprise encompasses all types of businesses and gives schools the flexibility to choose the context in which the outcomes of the subject are achieved (e.g.
hospitality, manufacturing, retail, agriculture). Students develop management and business skills through access to business enterprise experience. This subject is broad enough to have links with a wide range of vocational opportunities, including self-employment and post-secondary studies.
