Description
To provide students with a theoretical knowledge of
trade practices, associated with the trade "Combined
Hairdressing".
To supplement employer-provided practical skills.

components of each module.
Theory
The theory mark will be a composite of four test marks (80%), and one
assignment mark (20%).
Continuous assessment of student's performance, by
way of one-hour composite test papers, consisting of
short-answer and objective questions.
There will be four of these tests. They shall be
administered at the completion of Modules 5 and 6, 7
and 8, and cover the contents of the preceding two
modules. Final mark to be an aggregate of raw score, expressed as a
percentage.
One assignment on topic, selected by the
Hairdressing Study Area. Assignment shall be marked
out of 100.
Practical
Continuous assessment of student's performance, by way of an end-of-module
skills achievement test, based on assessment criteria specified by Study Area.
These tests shall be marked out of 100, and culminate in a stage mark, thus :
Student's total divided by the number of practical topics.
On student failure, in either a practical or theory
component of a module, a re-test will be given.
Certificate of Trade Studies
To be eligible for this award, an apprentice must
reach a pass standard in practical skills and theory
for each stage.
A failure in a stage of the course may be redeemed
by an apprentice, gaining a pass in a privileged
re-examination.
