This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to begin to read and write the letters of the English alphabet.

It requires the ability to recognise and write letters of the alphabet using English as an additional language.

The unit applies to individuals from language backgrounds other than English who require reading and writing equivalent to ISLPR 0+.
