Description
To provide students with the knowledge essential to
understanding the place of music in the traditional
lifestyle and its relation to ritual performance
through song and dance.
To introduce students to the variety in tribal song:
clan songs, women's songs, children's songs.
To provide students with the basic knowledge and
practical experience needed to execute a selection
of traditional Aboriginal dances.
To develop the initial skills required to make two
Aboriginal traditional instruments: the didgeridoo,
the clapping sticks.
To develop further skills in the technique of
execution pertaining to two traditional instruments:
the didgeridoo, the clapping sticks.
