To provide students with an understanding and
practical skills, relating to gas cutting, Manual
Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding and Fuel
Gas Welding.

Suggested Duration Guidelines

Section 1 - Oxy cutting:
5 lecture + 15 Practice = 20 hours

Section 2 - Manual Welding:
7 lecture + 21 Practice = 28 hours

Section 3 - GMA Welding:
3 lecture + 9 Practice = 12 hours

Section 4 - Gas Welding:
2 lecture + 6 Practice = 8 hours

Theory objective examination of one hour duration
covering major objectives of all sections in the
following proportions:

SECTION 1: 30%
SECTION 2: 40%
SECTION 3: 20%
SECTION 4: 10%

Practical - Continuous assessment of projects is to
be in the following proportions:

SECTION 1: 30%
SECTION 2: 40%
SECTION 3: 20%
SECTION 4: 10%
