Description
To provide the participant with a knowledge of the Australian Securities
Commission's Act, the Corporations Law and their attendant regulations, and the
law relating to Associations. The emphasis is providing this knowledge to
those who may fulfil the position of company secretary or company director or a
senior officer of a company or association.
The learner will be able to provide company officers with first-line advice on
the corporate responsibilities of officers as set out by Australian
corporations legislation. The learner will be able to demonstrate an ability
to use the relevant legislation to prepare basic statutory returns as required
by this legislation, and analyse at a first-line, rather than the corporate law
specialist level, whether the company's proposed or current activities fall
within the bounds permitted by the relevant legislation.
