To build confidence in thinking through and
resolving workplace problems in clear and creative
ways.

To encourage students to become more open-minded and objective in their
approach to problem-solving.

To familiarise students with the language of
decision-making processes.

Internal Assessment 100%

Assessment will be in the form of both written and
oral assignments. Assignments shall aim to:

- reinforce the strategies and techniques for
problem-solving and creative thinking discussed in Topics 1-4;

- provide practice in verbally expressing workplace
problem-solving to others.

Written Assignments

Students will be required to write up an account of
a problem-solving exercise taken from the students'
own workplace 30%

Students will be required to write up an account of
an in-class group problem-solving exercise 20%

Oral Assignments

In-class assessment of student progress in meeting
objectives in Topics 1-4 20%

Students will be required to orally present a
problem-solving case-study from the workplace.

This may be the case they have written up or a new
one 30%
