To equip participants with the essential knowledge,
skills and attitudes for the labour market of the
1990s.

To increase the confidence and independence of the participants in order to
take part in further education.

To provide an opportunity for the participants to
practise workplace skills while learning the English
language relevant to those skills.

To teach the English language skills needed for the
participants to successfully participate in future
award restructuring.

To provide participants with an accredited
certificate which will be transferable to other

who are NESB migrant manual workers. Service providers
who may wish to deliver the course for other clients must
work in close consultation with the Adult Migrant
Education Service.

The duration of this course will be either 309 or 328
hours depending upon the electives chosen in Group 2.
