Description
To enable students to communicate appropriately and
effectively in English and the LOTE (Language Other
Than English), both orally and in writing, in the
areas of Arts and Literature.
To enable students to read, discuss and draw
comparisons between individual works of art and
literature in a country where the LOTE is spoken.
To provide students with practical experience in the
appreciation of individual works of art and
literature.
To introduce students to different ways of interpreting works of art and
literature.

6 Write a researched assignment (minimum 300 words) on one important
artist/craftsperson and present the main findings orally (maximum 5

7 Match characteristic excerpts from musical/choreographic works with
their titles and their composers/choreographers. 10%
I Criteria for Assessment
Successful communication is the focus of all
assessment. In assessing the communicative skills of the student, the
following criteria (subject to language-specific needs) may assist in
determining the level of student performance:
- Clarity of expression
- Command of topic-specific vocabulary
- Appropriateness of language
- Fluency
- Structural accuracy
- Knowledge of subject matter
- Accuracy of information.
