Description
To provide the learner with the knowledge and basic skills required to estimate
quantities of materials and labour requirements for a landscape site from a
landscape plan.

To produce a materials list, costing, flow chart and quotation from a landscape
plan.
Range of Variables
Delivery to take place in a drawing room/specially set up classroom with enough
desks and/or tables of sufficient size for all the learners to examine plans.
The lighting must be of a high standard suitable for reading fine lines and
lettering accurately.

Learners should supply their own pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, calculator,
scale and set squares.

Landscape plans and relevant documentation and costing documents of relatively
simple residential and small commercial sites should be available for the
learners to examine as examples.

The facilitator/lecturer should have a sound knowledge of landscape
construction techniques and appropriate experience in landscape documentation
and costing.

It is essential that the learners should have completed or be enrolled in
Landscape Construction A 46032 and Landscape Construction B 46033 to have the
necessary competencies for this module.(CR

Internal Assessment 100%

This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
learner achievement.

The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown. All assessment criteria for
each learning outcome will be met.

Appropriate learning outcomes may be grouped together for assessment purposes.

Assessment will be based on an appropriate selection of the following methods:

- short oral explanations of procedures
- longer written and/or oral tests
- practical demonstration of the skills required in preparing landscape
documentation and costings from a landscape plan.
- prepare documentation individually for submission.
