This unit describes the beginning mathematical skills and knowledge required to apply numeracy skills in extremely familiar authentic contexts to navigate simple daily tasks and communicate numeracy-based information effectively.

The unit of competency is applied by individuals who use simple numbers for personal, educational and/or workplace settings.

This unit targets Numeracy at ACSF Pre Level 1A, with some additional content to suit the context.

  • 1.1 Match 0 to 20 numerals with oral name
  • 1.2 Count forwards and backwards from 1 to 20
  • 1.3 Name whole dollar Australian coins and notes up to $20
  • 1.4 Match whole dollar Australian notes and coins up to $20 with monetary amount
  • 1.5 Match a number of objects with numerals up to 20
  • 1.6 Order Australian whole dollar notes and coins up to $20
  • 1.7 Order two whole numbers between 1 and 20
  • 1.8 Copy numbers from 0 to 20 as numerals
  • 1.9 Copy whole dollar monetary amounts up to $20
