Examination 70% Internal
Assessment 30%

Students must pass the examination.
Where a pass is achieved in the examination, the
overall mark is the sum of the two components,
weighted as shown above.
Otherwise, the overall mark is determined by 100%
weighting for the written paper.

Examination

One two hour written paper consisting of the following components:

- Six questions relating to the following topics:
- relative file structure and access
- physical implementation of language features
- numerical integration
- numerical differentiation
- solution of equations
- error propagation 60%

- Design and coding of procedures 40%

Internal Assessment

Programming assignments requiring design, coding and
testing of code sequences, according to a written
specification.

- Relative file organisation (15%)
- Solution of equations, numerical differentiation and
integration with error analysis. (15%)
