Description
To provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to be able to work within
a medical or associated services office and be able to communicate with
understanding in writing and verbally with medical specialist staff.
Range of Variables
Delivery will take place in a classroom or other conducive learning
environment. Strategies should be selected to reflect the nature of the
learning outcomes and the needs of the learners. Some areas of content may be
common to more than one learning outcome and therefore integration may be
appropriate.

Problem solving process must be incorporated where appropriate in this module
to enable learners to develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge to be
able to:

- identify non-routine problems
- clarify nature of the problem
- investigate options and decide on the appropriate course of action
- implement solution
- evaluate and report on effectiveness of solutions and related outcomes
- assist others to identify and resolve problems in the workplace
- report on effectiveness of solutions and related outcomes.

- Practical and written exercises.

This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
learner achievement. Assessment should be undertaken in an environment
conducive to learning with the provision of relevant sources of information
with supervision and support appropriate to level three of the Australian
Standards Framework.
