To develop an understanding of the basic concepts and terminology of ecology.

To develop an understanding of the ecological role of flora and fauna in
rehabilitation.

To develop skills necessary for the carrying out of ecological sampling
pertinent to rehabilitation.

To develop the skills necessary for the recording and storage of data obtained
from sampling surveys.
