Description
This training program is an example of the Certificate II pre-apprenticeship in electrical taken from the qualification UEE22011. This pathway program replaces WB28.
To offer this pre-apprenticeship the following conditions must be met:
- Pre-apprenticeship Business Rules must be met. See http://vetinfonet.dtwd.wa.gov.au/VETpolicyandguidelines/Documents/Pre-Apprenticeship_Business_Rules_Cert_II_v9_Oct2012.pdf
- The program must include 200 hours of supervised skills practice and workplacement* (2 supervised skills practice and 3 work placement modules. Please refer to the pathway outline and the Business Rules regarding requirements for these)
- Students must possess an Energy Safety Training License (this is strongly advised for all students of this qualification, not just pre-apprentices, but it is essential for pre-apprentices)
- The course must include the following electives:
UEENEEE107A Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications
UEENEEG101A Solve problems in electromagnetic devices and related circuits
UEENEEG106A Terminate cables, cords and accessories for low voltage circuits
The pre-apprenticeship content can be located in the schedule.
*Work placement is a period of unpaid work with an employer undertaken by vocational education and training students in order to satisfy the requirements of a unit or course, with supervision provided by the employer, the training provider or both.
