1. CORE
**FOUNDATION**
To meet the requirements of the Training Package qualification, complete all Foundation units PLUS 20 POINTS of Core Band 1 - listed as Core Requirements; PLUS select 40 POINTS in units drawn from the MECHANICAL stream Specialisation Band A units. Units of at least 40 points must be drawn for the field and or units to obtain a particular stream outcome. Pre-requisite units for the selected stream units may be included in the 40 stream points, including where the pre-requisite units are from other fields not included in the chosen stream. Mechanical stream Machining field - all 7 series units; Maintenance and Diagnostics feild - all 18 series units; 9.1AA, 9.2AA, 10.4AA, 10.6AA, 12.3AA, 12.6AA, 13.7AA PLUS 36 POINTS in units drawn from Specialisation Band A including dual Band A and Band B units listed below. Total qualification points to equal 96 min - 102 maximum. NEW STUDENTS ENROLLING in or after 2002 must select version B competencies or higher. Lower competency versions are only for continuing students who previously commenced on the earlier course. RTOs may choose to use higher competency versions in existing programs.

from the Metals and Engineering Training Package MEM98 which should be
