Description

This qualification covers workers who maintain the safe function and operation of the hyperbaric chamber and related equipment during client treatments and testing procedures. This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeship pathways.
Occupational titles for these workers may include:
Hyperbaric technician
Hyperbaric technical officer
Hyperbaric technical officer grade one

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements apply for entry to this qualification:
- Certification by the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) as a Life Support Technician or
- Certification (Part 3) of Competency for Diving Supervisors by Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) or
- Attainment of rank of Petty Officer Clearance Diver

PACKAGING RULES
13 units of competency are required for award of this qualification, including:
- 8 core units
- 5 elective units

A wide range of elective units is available, including:
- At least 2 electives from the relevant electives listed in the qualification outline
- Group A electives which are recommended for culturally aware and respectful practice
- Units of competency to address workplace requirements and packaged at the level of this qualification or higher in Health and/or Community Services Training Packages
- Where appropriate, to address workplace requirements, up to 2 units of competency packaged at the level of th
