This skill set will provide new and existing workers the knowledge and skills to provide care and wellbeing support to individuals in a community setting. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to:
- follow, safe work practices, safe manual handling practices and infection control procedures
- communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, management and other industry providers, and
- provide a first aid response to a casualty.

- Target cohort includes individuals, particularly those located in regional and remote WA seeking to gain employment in the social assistance and/or caring sectors, or those already working in the sector that have not had access to formal/accredited training. The skill set comprises fundamental skills and knowledge that will develop community capacity in the provision of primary care and improve health outcomes amongst community members. The skill set will also create a scaffolding approach to learning for those seeking to pursue a career in the Social Assistance and Allied Health sector.
