This skill set will provide new and existing workers the knowledge and skills to provide information and support, in a public health context, to community and householders on environmental health issues or hazards that may be of concern. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to:
- Determine and implement disease prevention and control measure
- Provide information and support on environmental health issues, and
- Provide a first aid response to a casualty.

- Individuals, particularly those located in regional and remote WA seeking to gain employment in Indigenous Environmental Health, and those seeking the ability to recognise and respond to environmental health issues in their community. The skill set comprises fundamental skills and knowledge that will develop community capacity in the management of environmental health issues and lead to improvements in health outcomes amongst community members. The skill set will also create a scaffolding approach to learning for those seeking to pursue a career as an Indigenous Environmental Health Worker.
