This Skill Set defines skills and knowledge required for an existing engineering tradesperson who chooses to study at a higher level within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.

The Coded Welding Skill set will provide existing workers with the skills to be able to weld to the requirements of AS1796 and obtain Certificate 4 from Weld Australia. Throughout this course participants will gain knowledge and skills on health and safety with welding, set and maintain welding parameters, weld in the 2G & 5G weld positions.

*Upon reaching competency the student will be eligible to apply for Welding Code Certification under AS1796 issued by Weld Australia

**In order to meet this code you need to conduct 2 welds, 1 Horizontal pipe axis and 2 Vertical Pipe Axis. These welds are sent off to a third party for X- ray.
