Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Prepare for work
  • 1.1 Job requirements are determined from workplace instructions
  • 1.2 Hazards associated with the work are identified and risks are managed
  • 1.3 Work area is prepared and a range of trim materials is gathered for inspection according to workplace instructions
2. Select and inspect materials
  • 2.1 Trim materials are selected against job and customer requirements
  • 2.2 Trim materials are checked for quality and reported if faulty
3. Determine attachment methods
  • 3.1 Attachment material information is sourced and interpreted
  • 3.2 Attachment options are analysed and those most appropriate to the circumstances are selected
  • 3.3 Selected option is reported according to workplace procedures
4. Complete work processes
  • 4.1 Final material selection is presented ready for use
  • 4.2 Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected and stored
  • 4.3 Workplace documentation is processed according to workplace procedures
