Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare
- 1.1 Workplace procedures are identified and followed
- 1.2 Job specifications, working drawings and calculations are identified and interpreted
- 1.3 Tools, equipment and resources are selected and inspected, and faults reported
2. Select fabrication materials
- 2.1 Fabrication materials are identified and prepared according to job specifications and working drawings
- 2.2 Defective materials are set aside for scrap or rework
3. Bend, shape and fabricate material
- 3.1 Bending, shaping and fabricating processes are applied according to job specifications and working drawings
- 3.2 Material distortion prevention measures are identified and applied according to job requirements
- 3.3 Bent, shaped and fabricated materials are checked against job specifications or working drawings
4. Complete the job
- 4.1 Work area is cleaned, and materials disposed of or recycled according to workplace procedures
- 4.2 Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked and stored according to workplace procedures
- 4.3 Faulty equipment is tagged and reported
- 4.4 Work sheets are completed according to workplace procedures
