Description
This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to maintain sites and facilities used by the public. The unit includes identifying and reporting site hazards and safely handling waste materials. The unit applies to the maintenance of visitor sites in forest environment settings.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Prepare for site maintenance
- 1.1 Identify maintenance requirements from work order and supervisor instructions in line with organisational requirements
- 1.2 Identify and obtain supplies in line with work order and organisational procedures
- 1.3 Select, transport and store equipment in line with organisational requirements
- 1.4 Identify and assess potential and existing site hazards in line with WHS and environmental requirements, and organisational procedures
- 1.5 Establish and maintain communication with colleagues and others in line with WHS requirements.
2. Maintain site
- 2.1 Inspect visitor site to determine maintenance and cleaning requirements in line with organisational procedures and environmental requirements
- 2.2 Maintain visitor site in line with organisational and environmental requirements
- 2.3 Handle and remove waste materials according to environmental, WHS and workplace requirements
- 2.4 Identify, note and report problems in line with organisational procedures
- 2.5 Record and report visitor site maintenance to appropriate personnel.
