Description
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate and stocktake pooled equipment.It includes applying pooled equipment workplace procedures when receiving, dispatching, issuing and dehiring pooled equipment. It also includes undertaking pooled equipment stocktake and completing pooled equipment records and data entry.Work is performed under supervision generally within a team environment.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Apply pooled equipment workplace procedures
- 1.1 Pooled equipment is identified and operation planned in accordance with workplace procedures
- 1.2 Hazards are identified, risks assessed and control measures implemented
- 1.3 Movement of pooled equipment is undertaken in accordance with safe work practices
- 1.4 Transport activities are undertaken safely in accordance with workplace procedures
2 Receive, dispatch, issue and dehire pooled equipment
- 2.1 Receival, despatch, issue and dehire pooled equipment, including exchange on and exchange off are undertaken in accordance with workplace procedures
- 2.2 Pooled equipment documentation is checked for quantity, type, date, receiver and order reference accuracy and any discrepancies reported as a non-conformance in accordance with workplace procedures
- 2.3 Effective communication is undertaken with relevant persons
3 Undertake pooled equipment stocktake
- 3.1 Pooled equipment stocktake or cyclical counts are undertaken in accordance with workplace policies and procedures
- 3.2 Pooled equipment inventory data is interpreted
- 3.3 Pooled equipment stock levels are accurately counted and documented
4 Complete pooled equipment records and data entry
- 4.1 Pooled equipment records are updated in accordance with workplace procedures
- 4.2 Document flow is maintained to ensure accuracy
