Description
This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to pack, wrap and label product in a pulp or paper manufacturing facility.The unit applies to production support operators who package product in a pulp and paper manufacturing facility.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Pack product
  • 1.1 Check plant, systems and equipment in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, environmental sustainability and safe working requirements and practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and housekeeping requirements.
  • 1.2. Obtain and interpret customer order or product documentation.
  • 1.3. Prepare and operate packing systems.
  • 1.4. Undertake operator level maintenance requirements for packing system.
  • 1.5. Monitor, control and undertake quality assessments of packing system and correct faults or undertake appropriate actions.
  • 1.6. Maintain packing supply levels.
  • 1.7. Undertake packing system adjustments for grade changes.
2. Wrap product
  • 2.1. Obtain and interpret wrapping requirements for customer order.
  • 2.2. Prepare and operate wrapping systems.
  • 2.3. Undertake operator level maintenance requirements for wrapping system.
  • 2.4. Monitor, control and correct faults of wrapping systems.
  • 2.5. Maintain wrapping materials and supply levels.
3. Label product
  • 3.1. Undertake operator level maintenance or labelling equipment.
  • 3.2. Monitor and control labelling system and correct faults.
  • 3.3. Maintain labelling supplies.
