Description
This unit of competency defines the skills and knowledge required to carry out standard work health and safety (WHS) measurements, collect and evaluate data, maintain records and report hazards. Data collected would typically relate to factors associated with temperature, noise (noise meter) and dust (Draeger tubes).Where the selection and use of engineering measurement is required unit MEM12023 Perform engineering measurements should also be selected.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Band: AUnit Weight: 4

Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Determine job requirements
- 1.1 Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- 1.2 Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
- 1.3 Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
- 1.4 Identify job requirements from specifications, job sheets or work instructions
2 Carry out standard WHS measurement and evaluate data
- 2.1 Collect data using standard equipment in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
- 2.2 Evaluate data from measurements taken to identify non-conformance with WHS standards
3 Report outcomes of data evaluation
- 3.1 Report results requiring remedial action to appropriate personnel using SOPs
- 3.2 Prepare reports to detail data findings
- 3.3 Report and record non-compliances and non-conformances
- 3.4 Maintain records in accordance with SOPs
