Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to draw 3D designs for textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) products. The 3D drawings feature all perspectives of the product and are used as a communication tool for construction or promotional purposes. The drawing may be manual or digital.This unit applies to individuals drawing in accordance with a pre-determined design.No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Prepare for drawing
  • 1.1 Obtain and interpret information that informs drawing requirements
  • 1.2 Identify features, specifications and quality criteria for drawing to be completed
  • 1.3 Select and prepare drawing tools and equipment based on job requirements
2. Apply 3D drawing techniques
  • 2.1 Draw design of product showing relevant wearing or placement angles
  • 2.2 Draw all required views of the product
  • 2.3 Confirm drawing with relevant people and make necessary adjustments to meet requirements
3. Finalise 3D designs
  • 3.1 Render finalised drawing according to requirements
  • 3.2 Select presentation materials, tools and equipment suited to the drawing
  • 3.3 Apply appropriate visual presentation techniques to final illustration
  • 3.4 File and store documentation in accordance with workplace procedures
