This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct auger miner operations in coal mining, including operating auger miners and carrying out operator maintenance. It applies to those working in operational roles. 1. Plan and prepare to conduct auger miner operations
  • 1.1 Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
  • 1.2 Access, interpret and apply documentation required for auger miner operations and confirm work activity is compliant
  • 1.3 Select and wear personal protective equipment according to site requirements
  • 1.4 Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks according to site requirements
