Description
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to assess documentation for compliance with biosecurity border clearance in accordance with legislation, regulatory requirements and workplace requirements.This unit applies to individuals assessing documentation for compliance with biosecurity border clearance. Work is undertaken in a range of environments, including small to large worksites, in the custom broking and international freight forwarding industries.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Comply with non-commodity documentation requirements and declarations
- 1.1 Documentation for compliance with noncommodity concerns related to cargo type is assessed in accordance with the relevant Approved Arrangement requirements for noncommodity containerised cargo clearance and the noncommodity information requirements policy
- 1.2 Treatment certificates are assessed for compliance with treatment certificate requirements for solid timber, bamboo packaging and dunnage
- 1.3 Documentation to determine delivery location category is assessed in accordance with the relevant Approved Arrangement requirements for non-commodity containerised cargo clearance and the non-commodity information requirements policy
- 1.4 Answers for non-commodity general declaration questions when lodging full import declaration are assessed in accordance with the relevant Approved Arrangement requirements for non-commodity containerised cargo clearance
- 1.5 Non-commodity concern types and Approved Arrangement sites identifier (ID) are identified and reported when lodging full import declaration in accordance with the relevant Approved Arrangement requirements for non-commodity containerised cargo clearance
- 1.6 Relevant records are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- 1.7 Compliance monitoring and non-compliance implications are identified and actioned in accordance with the non-commodity Approved Arrangement policy
2 Comply with commodity documentation requirements and declarations
- 2.1 Documentation for compliance with commodity concerns is assessed in accordance with the relevant Approved Arrangement Requirements for automatic entry processing for commodities
- 2.2 Correct commodity code and Approved Arrangement sites identifier (ID) are determined for automatic entry processing for commodity as appropriate in accordance with the Approved Arrangement Requirements policy
- 2.3 Relevant records are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- 2.4 Compliance monitoring and non-compliance implications are identified and actioned in accordance with the Approved Arrangement policy
3 Comply with minimum document and import declarationrequirements
- 3.1 Documentation is assessed for compliance with biosecurity import conditions and in accordance with minimum documentary and import declaration requirements policy
- 3.2 Relevant information is reported in accordance with minimum documentary and import declaration requirements policy
- 3.3 Information is lodged into an import declaration in accordance with the minimum documentary and import declaration requirements policy
