This unit describes the performance outcomes required to assemble, install and test a vehicle pneumatic system kit and its associated components.It applies to those in an automotive manufacturing environment and involves the application of skills and knowledge at a specialist level.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Prepare pneumatic system kit
  • 1.1 Work order and workplace instructions are used to determine job requirements
  • 1.2 Assembly and installation information is identified from manufacturer specifications
  • 1.3 Tools and equipment are selected to meet job requirements and checked for quality and correct operation
2. Assemble pneumatic system
  • 2.1 Workplace procedures are identified and followed
  • 2.2 Pneumatic system kit is assembled according to manufacturer specifications
  • 2.3 Pneumatic system kit is installed using installation procedures that comply with manufacturer specifications and tolerances and without causing damage to components or systems
3. Test pneumatic system
  • 3.1 Testing procedures and requirements are accessed and interpreted from manufacturer specifications
  • 3.2 Pneumatic system is tested according to manufacturer specifications and adjusted if required
  • 3.3 Final inspection and test results are recorded according to workplace procedures
4. Complete work processes
  • 4.1 Tools and equipment are cleaned, inspected for defects and stored according to workplace procedures
  • 4.2 Faulty equipment is identified, tagged and reported
  • 4.3 Waste material is collected, recycled or disposed of according to workplace procedures
  • 4.4 Workplace documents are completed according to workplace procedures
