1. Plan and prepare for mine services vehicle operations
  • 1.1 Obtain, interpret and confirm work requirements
  • 1.2 Access, interpret and apply documentation required to conduct mine service vehicle operations
  • 1.3 Receive, read, interpret and clarify work requirements
  • 1.4 Select appropriate type and capacity of equipment and/or attachments
  • 1.5 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures according to workplace procedures
  • 1.6 Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
  • 1.7 Conduct equipment prestart checks, ensure equipment is ready for operation
  • 1.8 Communicate with other personnel using approved communication methods
  • 1.9 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for emergency situations
2. Conduct mine service vehicle activities
  • 2.1 Carry out start-up, park and shutdown procedures according to workplace procedures
  • 2.2 Operate equipment within recommended speed, engine capability and limitations according to manufacturer specifications
  • 2.3 Monitor equipment performance utilising appropriate indicators/gauges, maintain operating efficiency according to manufacturer specifications
  • 2.4 Manoeuvre equipment, maximise efficiency and ensure safety of other equipment and personnel
3. Carry out operator maintenance
  • 3.1 Conduct visual inspection and fault finding according to workplace procedures
  • 3.2 Conduct routine operational servicing according to manufacturer specifications to ensure peak performance of equipment
4. Conduct housekeeping activities
  • 4.1 Carry out routine operational maintenance, servicing, lubrication and housekeeping tasks according to workplace procedures
  • 4.2 Clean and store attachments and other ancillary equipment according to workplace procedures
  • 4.3 Process written maintenance records according to workplace procedures
