· identifying and harvesting targeted seafood species
· handling and landing targeted seafood species
· attaching slings, ropes and other connection equipment
· signalling during lifting and handling activities
· using tools underwater
· using auxiliary equipment underwater
· maintaining tools, propulsion devices and auxiliary equipment
· searching and surveying underwater.

Literacy skills used for:

Critical aspects of competence
Assessment must confirm the ability and knowledge to perform harvesting and other related diver duties required in the wild catch sector.

· use dive signals when communicating
· harvest and land targeted seafood species
· assist in lifting and handling activities
· use basic tools and auxiliary equipment underwater
