Description
This unit of competency defines the skills and knowledge required to set, according to defined procedures, a wide range of continuous process lines and processes, where operations are performed by machines and equipment that are sequentially linked and involves process lines and robot cells.Where the selection and use of power tools/hand held operations is required unit MEM18002 Use power tools/hand held operations should also be selected.Where setting or adjustment of numerical control (NC) and computer numerical control (CNC) or programmable logic control (PLC) is required appropriate units should also be selected.Where robot operation, editing and/or programming skills is required appropriate units should also be selected.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. 1 Determine job requirements
- 1.1 Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- 1.2 Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
- 1.3 Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
- 1.4 Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
2 Set process line
- 2.1 Use tools and equipment in a safe manner according to SOPs
- 2.2 Set up process line to specifications in accordance with SOPs
- 2.3 Set up all sensors, process links, displays, monitors and feedback loops to specifications
- 2.4 Check all safety apparatus for correct position and operation
- 2.5 Run process line to meet predetermined production and quality requirements
- 2.6 Adjust process line to meet specifications and operational requirements, as required
- 2.7 Instruct operator(s), as required
