Description

The Certificate I in Wider Opportunities for Work has been designed as a preparatory qualification with a focus on the development of work related skills. It is aimed at enhancing the learner’s job-readiness, and offers pathways into further education and training at Certificate II and III levels, as well as potential outcomes in community participation. The qualification may be contextualised and customised to suit different learner target groups and focus areas.

Schedule
The award of the qualification is based on the completion of the core (160 hours) and a selection of elective modules (190 hours) to a total of 350 hours. The choice of electives should reflect the needs and aspirations of the learner and support pathways to further learning or employment.
1. Core units

Four (4) units are to be completed, including either Workplace Practice 2 (81358) or Community Based Project (81359 ):
