Description

Graduates will have reached a level of competence which will allow them to
complete apprenticeship requirements. Their success will be measured by the
effectiveness of their ability to achieve technical precision and interact
positively across the industry.

To achieve this outcome the course enables the learner to:

1.
Reach occupational competency through college based learning which
compliments concurrent employment, usually as indentured apprentices.

2.
Develop knowledge, skills and attitudes in three major areas of
learning - Fundamental and Industry Studies, Lens Principles and Ophthalmic
Technology. The areas of Occupational Health and Safety and Total Quality will
be emphasised and integrated throughout all modules.

3.
Access more effectively an Optical Dispensing qualification.
