Description

The Marine Skills Traineeship will provide training for people to enable access
to employment positions within the Marine area. Trainees can also pursue
further study in the Fishing/Marine or Aquaculture areas through articulation
and credit transfer to TAFE Certificate courses.

Trainees should achieve:

Competence in a range of engineering, boat handling and marine skills

Competence in a range of broad-based skills including calculations,
communication and first aid, and

Proficiency in the key competencies at the level needed in the industry
concerned.

They may also achieve fishing, aquaculture and/or hospitality skills.
