This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to implement monitoring programs in the capacity of a research technician. The skills and knowledge could be applied to a variety of marine fields, including environmental and fisheries management. The unit covers water quality sampling; the collection, identificatio, and dissection of organisms; basic laboratory techniques; and the use of basic ecological sampling techniques.
