State Implementation and Classification
Description
To provide the learner with the skills and academic knowledge required in the marine industry.
On completion of this course, students will have:
a) This course satisfies the academic requirements for the NSCV course of study requirements for the issue of a Coxswain Certificate of Proficiency. (logged seatime still required).
b) Diving competencies are aligned to the licensing requirements of PADI Dive International for the issue of an Open Water Diving qualification.
c) Attained the theory components of the Australian Yachting Federation (AYF) TL4 and TL5 Offshore Yachtmaster Certificate and met the entry requirements to 9302 Certificate IV of Marine Studies (Ocean Yachtmaster).
d) Enhance their prospects of employment or promotion within relevant government departments related to the marine field; and in the charter industry (diving, fishing, sailing, eco-tourism).
e) Entrance to further studies in Marine Science at a tertiary institution.
