Description

To provide the learner with the skills and academic knowledge required in the
fisheries management industry.

On completion of this course, students will have:

a) Satisfied the academic requirements for the Department of Transport Coxswain Certificate of Competency. (logged seatime still required).

b) Attained the theory components of the Australian Yachting Federation (AYF) TL4 and TL5 Offshore Yachtmaster Certificate and met the entry requirements to 9302 Certificate IV of Marine Studies (Ocean Yachtmaster).

c) Enhance their prospects of employment or promotion within relevant government departments related to the marine field; and in the charter industry (diving, fishing, sailing, eco-tourism).

d) Entrance to further studies in Marine Science at a tertiary institution.


NOTE: APPROVED INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE OF 100 HOURS IN THE MARINE FIELD IS REQUIRED BY THE COMPELTION OF STUDY TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ISSUE OF THE DIPLOMA.
