Description
To provide students with sound practical and
theoretical knowledge of basic processes, associated
with the Sheet Metalwork Industry.
To enable the student to develop foundation skills
in metrication, cutting sizes and areas of volume
and formulae, used in Sheetmetal trades.
To assist student acquisition of basic skills, in
the interpretation of working drawings and pattern
development.
To supplement employer-provided experience in machine usage, handskills,
knowledge of joints, gas- welding and cutting, and general workshop practices,
associated with the Sheetmetal Industry.
To introduce the student to Occupational Health and
Safety issues, relevant to his/her trade.
