Students should be able to:
-state the uses for different types of plants - trees, shrubs, perennials,
annuals, ground covers and lawn
-prepare a garden bed
-plant seeds, seedlings, containerised plants and lawn
-maintain a new or existing garden bed
-work together in a garden on a group project.

The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.
This subject is to be assessed internally using
competence as a measure of student achievement.
Assessment will be based on:
-workbook exercises/ record book of activities
-practical exercises in the gardens
-short oral/written tests at various stages during the module.
STANDARD - 75% for practical assessment and 50% for written assessment.
