Packaging Rules
1. CORE Units
The purpose of this program is to enable learners with moderate to severe disabilities, the opportunity to participate in accredited training and to provide pathways to further mainstream study or employment.
The key clients for this qualification are people with disabilities including people with physical disabilities, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Mental Heath disability;
and people who are disadvantaged including Indigenous Australians, people in rural and remote areas or people with barriers to entry into mainstream courses.
This pathway is a Competitive Allocation Training (CAT) program developed for the registered training organisation Industryi. Industryi is a specialist provider meeting the training needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Other registered training organisations who wish to deliver this pathway are required to gain approval from the Department of Education and Training.

This qualification will be issued based on successful assessment of:
- All the core units of competency; and
- 7 elective units with a minimum of 1 unit chosen from specialist areas in the Visual Arts, Craft and Design Training Package. Remaining units may be selected from other areas of the Visual Arts, Craft and Design Training Package or any relevant endorsed training package at the appropriate level.
The total package of units must meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework Descriptor for a Certificate II. In all cases selection of electives must be guided by the job outcomes sought, local industry requirements and the level of the qualification.
