12 Fisheries Compliance Qualification Stream Core Units (Group 2) plus
11 Elective Units of which a minimum of all Units from one of the Fisheries
Compliance Qualification Stream Work Options & Elective Units (Group 3) must be
undertaken. If the Vessel Operations Option is chosen, any 11 of the 24 units
listed in this option is required. The other Elective Units can be selected
from other units listed under the Fisheries Compliance Qualification Stream
Work Options (Group 3) and/or from the list of General Elective Units (Group
4). 1 Elective Units can be selected from S168 Certificate IV in Seafood
Industry (Fisheries Compliance).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS = 23 UNITS

Completion of all units in the Fraud Prevention, Detection and Investigation
Option is a requirement for any Fisheries Officer enforcing Commonwealth
Fisheries legislation.

LICENCES
The issuing of Certificates of Competency (licences) for vessel operations and
maintenance is the responsibility of the relevant Regulatory Authority in each
State/Territory. Regulatory Authorities may set additional requirements to the
units listed in the various Options for particular Certificates of Competency
such as sea time. Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) awarding this
qualification do not issue Certificates of Competency.

Individuals seeking recognition as a COXSWAIN must select and attain all of the
following units: S1707, S1708, S1709, S1710, S1712, S1713, S1715, S1716,
S1717, S1718, S1721, S1722 and S1734.

Individuals seeking recognition as a SKIPPER 3 must select and attain all of
the following units: S1708, S1709, S1710, S1712, S1713, S1715, S1716, S1717,
S1718, S1721, S1722, S1725, S1727, S1728, S1729 and S1734.

Individuals seeking recognition as a SKIPPER 2 must select and attain all of
the following units: S1708, S1709, S1710, S1711, S1712, S1713, S1714, S1715,
S1716, S1717, S1718, S1721, S1722, S1728, S1729, S1730, S1731, S1732, S1733,
S0620 and S1734.


This training program is a representation of the qualification SFI50400 taken
from the Seafood Industry Training Package SFI00 which should be consulted for
full descriptions of requirements. SFI00 is accredited until 31/01/2003.
