Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes required to measure, cut and attach trim materials to vehicle components.It applies to those in an automotive manufacturing environment and involves the application of skills and knowledge at a production worker level.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare
- 1.1 Work orders, job specifications and working drawings are identified, interpreted and confirmed
- 1.2 Trim materials, tools and equipment are selected and inspected, and faults repaired or reported
2. Match materials
- 2.1 Trim materials are matched, measured and cut according to job specifications and workplace procedures
- 2.2 Material characteristics are identified and selected for use
- 2.3 Attaching or bonding informationis identified and interpreted from appropriate sources
3. Attach materials
- 3.1 Workplace procedures are identified and followed
- 3.2 Trim materials are pre-fitted and checked for alignment, appearance and quality according to job specifications
- 3.3 Trim materials are attached to components by approved methods
4. Complete work processes
- 4.1 Tools and equipment are cleaned, inspected and stored according to workplace procedures
- 4.2 Faulty equipment is identified, reported and tagged
- 4.3 Work areas are cleaned, and unused materials stored
- 4.4 Waste materials are removed and disposed of or recycled according to workplace environmental procedures
- 4.5 Work sheets are completed according to workplace procedures
