Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for servicing plant and equipment
- 1.1 Access, interpret and apply service and maintenance documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- 1.2 Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- 1.3 Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- 1.4 Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work activity
- 1.5 Receive, interpret and clarify shift servicing requirements
- 1.6 Access and apply safety information and procedures
- 1.7 Conduct pre-start checks on the service vehicle
- 1.8 Check and top up service vehicle levels of fuel, lubricants and water
- 1.9 Maintain the service bay/equipment
- 1.10 Identify and source replacement parts and service tools
- 1.11 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
2. Service mine plant and equipment
- 2.1 Communicate and coordinate with others, to arrange preparatory activities, timing and location of servicing
- 2.2 Conduct start-up, park-up and shut-down procedures on service vehicle
- 2.3 Operate service vehicle appropriately
- 2.4 Conduct servicing of plant and equipment
- 2.5 Dispose of used oils and lubricants
- 2.6 Complete servicing schedule and/or records
