This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to test or inspect product quality as part of periodic testing or inspection of raw materials or finished products during the production process. At this level there is limited discretion, initiative and judgement involved. This unit applies to all sectors of the textiles, clothing and footwear (TCF) industry and in a variety of environments, including operational workplace activities, restricted space, and hazardous controlled or exposed conditions.Work may be conducted in small to large scale enterprises and may involve individual and team activities. No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.
