Description

This qualification provides the foundation skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in routine tasks in various customer service settings. Individuals may work in a team but always under direct supervision.

Successful completion of this qualification will provide a pathway to a Certificate II qualification in a customer service industry.

Work could be undertaken in a variety of customer service settings.

To achieve 7135 Certificate I in Customer Service, 10 units must be completed. This comprises 4 core units and 6 elective units.

Elective Group

6 elective units must be completed. Electives may be chosen from the list below. A maximum of 3 units may be imported from Training Packages or Accredited Courses. Units may be imported from Certificate I qualifications; however, no more than 1 unit may be chosen from a Certificate II qualification. Imported units should be consistent with a customer service focus.

The Learning Through Practice unit is project-based and must be integrated with other units and work placement as a means of developing employability skills.

Elective units may be chosen from a single industry area or a number of industry areas.
