Energy Safety (WA) requires learners who are not Registered Plumbers and Gasfitters or have equivalent practical experience to complete module 29057 Gas Installations 1 - Type A Appliances (except for the servicing only permit where this module is not required).
Learners who have:
Registration as a Plumber with the Plumbing Licensing Board
OR
A Certificate of Trade Studies - Plumbing and Gas Fitting
OR
A Certificate in Pre Apprenticeship - Plumbing and Gas Fitting
OR
Certificate III in General Plumbing and Gas Fitting
OR
Have completed Stages 1 and 2 of the Plumbing and Gas Fitting Apprenticeship Course
OR
Have completed a Recognition of Prior Learning assessment in accordance with the Directorate of Energy Safety (WA) guidelines for exemption from Gas Installations 1
are exempted from 29057 Gas Installations 1 - Type A Appliances.
STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRODUCE EVIDENCE FOR THEIR EXEMPTION BEFORE OBTAINING THE CERTIFICATE IN GAS FITTING TYPE A APPLIANCES, OR WHEN APPLYING FOR A PERMIT FROM ENERGY SAFETY (WA).
Completion of modules M1191, M1192 and M1193 are compulsory for all licence categories issued by Energy Safety (WA), ie Class G, I, E and P. (This course only deals with the Class G licence).
Group 1 modules M1191, M1192 and M1193 are mandatory for the requirement of Gas Fitting permits for Class G.
